Where The Wild Things Are Wedding

"I'll eat you up, I love you so!" - Where The Wild Things Are

The night Max wore his wolf suit... could very well be the most important day of your life.
Get back to nature, and revert to childhood innocence with this classic children's story by Maurice Sendak as your theme.

Where The Wild Things Are begins when a young boy called Max puts on his wolf suit and creates mischief of one kind, and another, and another. If you're going to be doing the same you'll need an ankle length dress to allow your legs the movement needed to climb tree's and join in the wild rumpus (aka your family's embarrassing dance moves!)

For this wedding the setting absolutely needs to be outdoors, if you're set on an indoor ceremony consider having your reception outside instead. Although the story is all about creating mischief, you can keep your wedding elegant by purchasing broken furniture online or at auction and using turf to decorate them. You could even create a turf-throne for the newly crowned King and Queen of all the Wild Things! Speaking of which,  how can you be King and Queen of all the Wild Things if you don't have a crown ?

Take elements from nature by using engraved wood slices as your Save The Dates or as wedding favours for your guests.  Placing the rings in a nest adds a whimsical touch.

Catering is the perfect area to show off your theme, in the story Max is sent to bed without any supper, but when he sails home he found that it was waiting for him. And it was still hot. Mirror this by serving hot finger foods on wood slices to your guests.
Milk and cookies would be a great finishing touch for the classic children's story theme.
